Paul Merson has predicted on SportsKeeda that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will not include Joe Gomez in the starting lineup against Watford at Anfield.
Liverpool will return to action on Saturday when they take on Watford at Anfield in the Premier League.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is injured for the match, which means that Klopp will have to use someone else at right-back.
James Milner and Gomez are Klopp’s two main options, and former Arsenal star Merson believes that the latter – which is rated at £23 million by Liverpool (The Express) – will be left disappointed by the final decision of his manager.
Merson wrote on SportsKeeda: “With Trent Alexander-Arnold missing due to injury, Jurgen Klopp might turn to Joe Gomez or James Milner to deputise at right-back. I think he’ll go with the latter, because when Milner plays, he hardly ever disappoints.”

Joe Gomez or James Milner for Liverpool v Watford?
In our opinion, Liverpool manager Klopp should include Gomez at right-back against Watford, not Milner.
Yes, Milner always delivers, but Gomez is 24 and is the future of Liverpool.
Gomez is a central defender by trade, but the England international is behind Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Ibrahima Konate in the pecking order at centre-back.
If the Englishman, who did well against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup at right-back, does not start against Watford, then, in our view, it will make him question his future, especially with Newcastle United, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur interested in him.
