Leeds United are interested in signing Oscar Mingueza from Barcelona in the summer transfer window, according to Sport.

The report in the Spanish publication has claimed that Leeds like the profile of Barcelona defender Mingueza and think that he is ideal for the Premier League.

The West Yorkshire club have already asked about signing the 22-year-old Spain international defender in the summer transfer window.

Sport have added that Barcelona could include Mingueza in a deal to sign Raphinha from Leeds in the summer transfer window.

The Spanish and European giants are reportedly keen on securing the services of the Brazil international winger.

Could Leeds United sign Oscar Mingueza from Barcelona?

In our opinion, Leeds could be able to sign Mingueza from Barcelona in the summer transfer window.

The defender is struggling for playing time at Camp Nou at the moment, and he will surely want to advance his career and feature in games.

The Barcelona no. 22 has made eight starts and seven substitute appearances in La Liga so far this season.

Mingueza has given one assist in those games.

The Spaniard has also made two starts and three substitute appearances in the Champions League and one in the Europa League this campaign.

Interestingly, Mingueza has played as a right-back this season, but he is a central defender by trade.

The youngster has a buyout clause of €100 million (£83.91m) (Barcelona’s official website).

Now, of course, we do not expect Leeds to pay anywhere near that amount, but they should be able to secure the services of the defender for a decent fee.
