Goal journalist Charles Watts has claimed on his YouTube channel that Arsenal want £10-£15 million for Bernd Leno amid interest from Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported that Arsenal are not going to get the £19.3 million transfer fee they paid to Bayer Leverkusen for Leno in the summer of 2018 (BBC Sport).
Football.London reported this week that Newcastle and Bayer want to sign the 30-year-old Germany international in the summer transfer window.
Watts said on his YouTube channel, as transcribed by TheBootRoom: “Arsenal will look to get some money in for Bernd.
“They aren’t going to get what they paid for him but I imagine Arsenal will be looking to generate around £10-15m for Bernd.
“You would imagine he’s going to end up heading back to Germany if he can.”

Arsenal’s Bernd Leno would be good for Newcastle
In our opinion, Arsenal goalkeeper Leno would be a good signing for Newcastle in the summer transfer window, especially for £10m-15 million.
That kind of transfer fee is not really much for an experienced goalkeeper such as Leno.
Yes, the 30-year-old is now behind Aaron Ramsdale in the pecking order at Arsenal, but we cannot ignore that he is very good and is at the top of his game at the moment.
If £10-15 million is what Arsenal are looking for Leno, then Newcastle should certainly make a bid.
For Arsenal, it would not be a bad piece of business to sell a player they do not need for £10-15 million.
Ramsdale will the number one goalkeeper at the Emirates Stadium for years to come, while Matt Turner will move to Arsenal in the summer of 2022 and be his back-up.
