Aston Villa loanee Keinan Davis would relish a permanent move to Nottingham Forest after impressing on loan from the Premier League giants, speaking via the Birmingham Mail.
For much of Davis’ young career, the prevailing narrative was that this was a striker with many a string to his bow. The problem was, goalscoring wasn’t one of them.
Well, until now that is.
In just an hour of football during Nottingham Forest’s 4-0 shellacking of relegation-threatened Reading on Saturday afternoon, Davis doubled his tally for the East Midland outfit with a pair of brilliantly-taken goals.
The former Biggleswade Town youngster has made quite the impact at the City Ground. His exceptional work-rate and hold-up play has made him a key cog in Steve Cooper’s machine, shining in the FA Cup giant-killings of Arsenal and Leicester City.
But, in his 12th appearance in Forest colours, Davis showed another side of his game. A side that, come the summer, will surely have Nottingham Forest enquiring about a permanent deal.
Does Keinan Davis have a future at Aston Villa?
“Yeah, of course,” Davis said when asked if he’d like to stay at Forest. “This is the best I’ve played and the most I’ve enjoyed my football in my whole entire life. So it’s just great to be here.
“The manager lets us express ourselves and be ourselves. As you can tell by the way we’re playing, you can tell us loan signings all love it here. It’s good at the moment. We’re just enjoying it.

“You don’t get many clubs like this, especially in the Championship. They shouldn’t be here.
“For me to get my opportunity to be able to express myself and play good, especially for a team like this, is just more than I could ask for.”
Davis is under contract at Villa Park until 2024. His future, under Steven Gerrard, could rest on what Aston Villa have planned for another young striker tearing up the Championship, fellow loanee Cameron Archer.
“I’ve not had any conversations with anyone about what might happen in the summer,” Davis adds.
“Villa keep in touch with me. After games they message me and say ‘well done’ and say ‘it would be good if you could get Forest into the play-offs, so just keep going’.
“They keep encouraging me.”
