Ian Wright has revealed on Match of the Day 2 on BBC One (10:57pm, March 13, 2022) what Bradley Wright-Phillips has told him about Leeds United head coach Jesse Marsch.

The Arsenal legend made the revelation about Marsch following the match between Leeds and Norwich City at Elland Road on Sunday.

Marsch’s side won the Premier League game 2-1.

The American boss was recently appointed as the new Leeds head coach following the sacking of Marcelo Bielsa.

Bradley Wright-Phillips played under Marsch at the New York Red Bulls.

The son of Arsenal legend Ian Wright was on the books of the New York Red Bulls from 2013 until 2019, while Marsch was in charge of the Major League Soccer club from 2015 until 2018.

Wright said: “I asked Brad, ‘What’s he going to be like?’

“He said, ‘Das, very meticulous, he does a lot of work on the training field with the boys, and he is somebody that is brilliant at man-management. The boys are going to love him’.”

Hope

In our view, the win against Norwich has given Leeds a good chance of escaping the dreaded drop to the Championship at the end of the season.

The Whites are 16th in the Premier League table at the moment with 26 points from 29 matches.

Leeds are now four points above third-from-bottom Watford, who have played 29 games.

The West Yorkshire club still have a lot of work to do, but they can retain their Premier League status for next season.
