Aston Villa midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka will wait until the summer to make a decision on his future amid interest from Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, according to The Athletic.

The Athletic have reported Chukwuemeka will not make a decision on his long-term future at Villa now and will wait until the summer of 2022.

The 18-year-old midfielder has been offered the chance to sign an extension to his current deal that has 15 months left on it.

However, Chukwuemeka is aware of interest from other clubs, and although he is open to extending his stay at Villa Park, he wants to evaluate all of his options in the summer transfer window.

The London Evening Standard reported this week that Arsenal have been scouting the 18-year-old midfielder this season.

The Liverpool Echo reported back in May 2021 that Liverpool are monitoring the teenager.

Should Carney Chukwuemeka join Arsenal from Aston Villa?

In our view, Chukwuemeka should stay at Villa for now and then evaluate his future in the next two or three years.

Yes, of course, Arsenal are a massive club and a global brand.

However, if the Gunners get into the Champions League, then it is very likely that they will bring in more experienced and established players in the summer transfer window.

And that would mean less playing time for Chukwuemeka, who is only 18 and is just starting his career.

Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard is one of the greatest midfielders of all time, and, in our view, working with the Liverpool legend on a regular basis would help the teenager develop his game.
