Alan Shearer has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United losing to Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea at Stamford Bridge today.
Newcastle have suffered a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea away from home at Stamford Bridge in London in the Premier League this afternoon.
Kai Havertz scored the only goal of the match in the 89th minute.
Havertz was probably fortunate to stay on the pitch after he caught Dan Burn in the face while jumping.
That incident happened in the first half.
Newcastle fans were also disappointed and frustrated that Trevoh Chalobah was not penalised for a foul on Jacob Murphy in the second half.
Newcastle legend Shearer was following the match, and he is disappointed with the final result and has praised the players.

Alan Shearer reacts to Chelsea v Newcastle United result
In our view, Newcastle should be pleased with their performance against Chelsea.
Yes, they lost in the end, but keeping a star-studded Chelsea team at bay for until the 89th minute is a feat in itself.
Newcastle should be fine in regard to retaining their Premier League status for next season.
