Arsenal Technical Director Edu and Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez are among those who have congratulated Gunners forward Gabriel Martinelli on Instagram on earning a call-up to the latest Brazil squad.

Martinelli, who has established himself as an important player for Arsenal, has been called up to the Brazil senior squad for their 2022 World Cup qualifiers this month.

Brazil, who have already qualified for the finals in Qatar, will face Chile and Bolivia this month.

Arsenal forward Martinelli, 20, could make his debut for the former world champions this month.

And, as you can understand, the Brazilian – signed by Arsenal Technical Director Edu – is over the moon to have fulfilled another dream, and he has received some lovely messages on Instagram.

Martinelli wrote: “Today was the realisation of another dream in my life! I can only thank you for this moment, for having the opportunity to wear the shirt of the most victorious team in the history of world football. A lot of work and dedication so I could experience this! I appreciate everyone’s trust in my work and my family and friends for always being by my side! We will!”

Gabriel Martinelli a rising star for Arsenal

In our view, Martinelli deserves his call-up to the Brazil squad.

The Arsenal forward has been playing well for Mikel Arteta’s side this season and is showing what he can achieve.

The 20-year-old has made 13 starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League so far this season.

Martineli has scored five goals and given two assists in those games.
