Ray Parlour has said on talkSPORT (9:37am, March 11, 2022) that he wants Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal to sign Marcus Rashford from Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

The former Arsenal star thinks that Manchester United forward Rashford would be a good addition to the Gunners’ team.

Parlour said: “I am sure lots of clubs will be enquiring about Marcus Rashford if he was available in the summer. Certainly Arsenal, I would love him to come to Arsenal.”

Marcus Rashford from Manchester United to Arsenal rumour

Well-known and well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano reported on Twitter this month that Rashford is considering his future at Manchester United.

90min have reported that Arsenal are among the clubs who are keen on securing the services of the 24-year-old England international forward, who earns £200,000 per week as salary at United (Spotrac).

Could a transfer happen?

In our view, if Arsenal are willing to pay big, then a transfer could well happen.

Rashford earns a lot in salary, and United will also ask for a good transfer fee.

Now, if Arsenal are unable to finish in the Premier League top four this season, then, in our view, a transfer is unlikely.

However, if the North London club do get into the Champions League, then a move to the Emirates Stadium could be very appealing to Rashford.

The England international can play down the middle as a ‘striker’, and he is also able to play out wide.

Arsenal could be in need of as many as three strikers in the summer transfer window.

Remember, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left for Barcelona in the January transfer window, and Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are out of contract at the end of the season.
