Leeds United are keeping tabs on Morgan Gibbs-White ahead of his return to Wolves, with the midfielder set for the Premier League irrespective of his Sheffield United loan transfer.
That’s according to TEAMtalk, who report Gibbs-White is likely to play top-flight football in 2022/23 regardless of the Blades’ campaign. The 22-year-old left Molineux for Bramall Lane on August’s deadline day in a season-long deal and has proven vital to their promotion bid.
Gibbs-White has featured in 24 of Sheffield United’s 30 Championship fixtures since joining the South Yorkshire natives. Over those games, he has opened 22, while scoring eight goals and laying on a further seven. He has six goal involvements over his last five appearances.
Only Billy Sharp across 35 appearances has also offered a team-high seven assists to place Sheffield United in the play-off spots. Gibbs-White also only trails Sharp for goals scored, with the 36-year-old striker hitting home 14. Five have scored the third-most with three.

Gibbs-White should now expect to play Premier League football next term, even if Sheffield United do not seal promotion. Along with Leeds, Crystal Palace and Southampton are keen on the England U21 international. Runaway second-tier leaders Fulham are also interested.
Fulham believe Gibbs-White has the potential to replace Fabio Carvalho at Craven Cottage when his contract ends in June. But Wolves are yet to decide if they will sanction a transfer or recall their academy product. His contract does not expire at Molineux until June 2024.
In the meantime, clubs are positioning themselves in the race for Gibbs-White’s signature. Wolves have fielded enquiries from a number of keen clubs while they weigh up his future.

Leeds boss Jesse Marsch can add a clear goal threat to the Elland Road engine room with a transfer for Gibbs-White this summer, should Wolves warm to letting him leave Molineux.
Along with netting eight in 24 Championship games so far, the Stafford-born dynamo also scored in the Carabao Cup. Gibbs-White hit home once in his sole cup outing this term at Nottingham Forest for Wolves last August. He also played seven Premier League minutes.
His performances at Bramall Lane should now secure the midfielder more regular top-flight action next term somewhere. And his Blades goal record could be even higher, with Sharp lauding the quality he showed despite missing a number of chances against Middlesbrough.
“I think he will play in the Premier League,” Sharp said, via quotes by The Star. “He’s got so much quality. I love playing with him; he creates a lot for me. He’s disappointed [after facing Boro] because he feels he should have had more goals.
“But his goal is incredible. I wouldn’t have been able to do that, with my hips. I am glad he got on the scoresheet because he deserved a goal.”
