Garth Crooks has urged Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool on BBC Sport to sign James Ward-Prowse from Premier League rivals Southampton.
The BBC Sport pundit believes that Southampton midfielder Ward-Prowse is made for Liverpool.
The former Tottenham Hotspur forward was impressed by the displays of the 27-year-old English midfielder against Spurs and Manchester United over the past few days.
Southampton beat Tottenham 3-2 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League last week and played out a 1-1 draw with Manchester United away from home at Old Trafford in the league at the weekend.
Ward-Prowse provided two assists against Tottenham.
Crooks wrote on BBC Sport: “Southampton clearly enjoy playing in Manchester.
“They gained a point against City earlier in the season and more than deserved a point against United. The man at the heart of a splendid week for the Saints was, without doubt, Ward-Prowse.
“He was outstanding against Tottenham in midweek, producing two excellent assists.
“I’ve been singing the praises of this gifted midfielder for some time now, and his performances for Southampton only seem to get better. I don’t know what Liverpool are waiting for – he’s made for them.”

Do Liverpool need James Ward-Prowse?
In our view, Liverpool are not in desperate need of another midfielder, and we do not think that the Reds will make a move for Southampton star Ward-Prowse in the summer of 2022.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp does have options in the middle of the park.
Thiago, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson are doing well for the Reds, who also have Curtis Jones and Naby Keita to call upon.
Now, this is not the first time that Crooks has urged Liverpool to sign Ward-Prowse from Southampton.
The BBC Sport wrote on BBC Sport in January 2022 to sign Ward-Prowse to replace the departed Georginio Wijnaldum.
