Reaching ten goals and ten assists in a single season in a top-five league is something few players achieve in their careers, yet Domenico Berardi has become the first to manage the feat this campaign.
The Italian attacker bagged an assist in Sassuolo’s 2-2 draw against AS Roma on Sunday, making the 27-year-old the first player this season to hit double digits in both goals scored and provided in a top-five European league this season.
With Mohamed Salah in outrageous form for Liverpool and the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo dropping down a peg with their new clubs, it is perhaps a surprise that Berardi is the player to reach this insane season milestone first, and for Arsenal, the news will come across as a blow.
Arsenal chased stat fiend Berardi in the summer

CalcioMercato reported in the summer that the north London side were interested in Berardi, with TuttoMercatoWeb also reporting in December that Arsenal were also eager on a move for the 27-year-old in January.
Yet as we know, Arsenal failed to land the Italian international, and whilst the Gunners have found success this season with wingers Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka, neither player have hit the heights Berardi has this campaign.
Indeed, the attacker has been in sensational form for Sassuolo this season, and his latest accolade highlights what Arsenal have missed out on, with Berardi the most productive right-winger in Europe this campaign alongside Salah.
Saka potential makes move for Italian superstar unlikely

With Berardi in some of the best form of his career, it would make sense for Arsenal to make a move for the winger this summer, however, Mikel Arteta will likely avoid trying to sign the Italian despite his insane goalscoring and assist record this season.
As we know, the Basque manager is leading a youth revolution at Arsenal, and at the heart is Saka, who has made the right-wing position his own this season and could easily hold down the role for many years to come if the Gunners can sign the 20-year-old down to a new contract in the coming months.
