Gary Neville praised Newcastle United right-back Kieran Trippier on Sky Sports Football (3:09pm, February 13, 2022) while watching him in action against Aston Villa at St. James’ Park.

Newcastle were in action against Villa at home in the Premier League this afternoon.

Former Tottenham Hotspur right-back Trippier started the match for the Magpies.

The 31-year-old defender joined Spurs from Atletico Madrid in the January transfer window.

Trippier has been superb for Newcastle, and he played well for Eddie Howe’s side until the 48th minute when he suffered an injury.

The Englishman scored in the 35th minute.

Former Manchester United right-back Neville was on co-commentary duty for the match on Sky Sports, and he was impressed by Trippier.

Neville said on Sky Sports Football (3:09pm, February 13, 2022) when Trippier was about to come off: “I think this is a problem for Newcastle, not just because they have lost a good right-back, I think he is infectious to his teammates, but all around the ground.”

Kieran Trippier already a Newcastle star

In our view, Trippier has already established himself as a key player for Newcastle and is now one of the first names on the teamsheet.

Despite being in his early 30s, the right-back remains at the top of his game, and his impact at Newcastle is there for everyone to see.

Newcastle fans will hope that the injury that Trippier suffered today is not serious, and that he is back in action soon.
