Everyone knows Arsenal had a shocker of a January transfer window.
The Gunners loaned out or terminated the contract of a few players – including Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – without signing replacements.
However, Arsenal’s summer window has already gotten off to a decent start.
ESPN reported in January that the North Londoners would be signing Matt Turner from New England Revolution when the Premier League season is finished.
The report claims that Arsenal would be signing the goalkeeper for around £7.4 million.
The trail went relatively cold after that and there wasn’t much more speculation about the transfer.
Until the MLS outfit went ahead and confirmed on Friday that Turner is bound for Arsenal.
Here’s what Revolution tweeted out from their official account:
A short statement on their website read: “The New England Revolution have agreed to terms for goalkeeper Matt Turner to join Arsenal of the English Premier League in a summer transfer for an undisclosed fee pending completion of a medical.”
After the report broke in January, HITC Sport reviewed the USA international’s performance in a World Cup qualifier against Canada.
It didn’t go swimmingly for Turner, who managed to make two mistakes for the same goal that Cyle Larin scored.
