Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte has told Football.London that Oliver Skipp has improved a lot under him.
Conte has praised the 21-year-old midfielder and has outlined his importance to the current Tottenham team.
The former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss has said that he is desperate for the youngster to be back to full fitness and resume playing for Spurs.
The England Under-21 international has been ruled out of Tottenham’s Premier League match against Southampton at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Antonio Conte on Tottenham midfielder Oliver Skipp
Conte told Football.London about Skipp: “He had a problem then we tried to take care with him then we need to have a bit of patience with him.
“He is another player that I have seen great improvement in him. It’s a pity that he is unavailable.
“I hope to have him back very soon. The medical department told me two weeks but I hope to have him available in one week/10 days maximum and for this reason I push the medical department because we’re talking about an important player for Tottenham Hotspur.”

Very encouraging
In our view, Conte’s comments on Skipp are very encouraging for the Tottenham midfielder.
They outline just how highly the Italian boss rates the England Under-21 international midfielder.
Skipp is only 21, and for a serial winner such as Conte to speak so highly of him shows his potential and must really encourage him.
The youngster has made 14 starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League for Tottenham so far this season.
Skipp has also made four starts and one substitute appearance in the Carbao Cup, made four appearances in the UEFA Conference League, and has played once in the FA Cup for Spurs so far this season.
