Trevor Sinclair has taken to Twitter to express his delight at seeing Harvey Elliott back in action for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool after recovering from a long-term injury he suffered against Leeds United.

Liverpool winger Elliott suffered a serious ankle injury against Leeds back in September 2021.

The 18-year-old suffered a fracture dislocation of his left ankle.

Elliott was included in the Reds’ matchday squad against Cardiff City at Anfield in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.

The winger came on as a substitute in the second half and scored for Liverpool, as the Premier League club won 3-1.

Former Manchester City winger Sinclair was pleased to see Elliott back in action, while ex-Liverpool midfielder Don Hutchison was happy to see the English youngster score on his comeback.

Encouraging for Liverpool

In our view, Elliott being back in action is very positive for Liverpool.

Liverpool are unlikely to win the Premier League title this season, but you just never know.

Also, let us not forget that the Reds are still in the Champions League.

So, Elliott being back will give manager Klopp more options in attack.
