Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte wanted to sign Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic in the January transfer window, according to FC Inter News.
The report in the Italian news outlet has claimed that Conte tried to sign Brozovic from his former club Inter for Tottenham last month.
However, the 29-year-old Croatia international midfielder immediately declined.
The midfielder is out of contract at Inter at the end of the season, and talks over a new deal with the defending Italian champions are going on.
Could Conte bring Brozovic to Tottenham in 2022 summer?
In our view, Tottenham boss Conte could be successful in his quest to bring Brozovic to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer of 2022.
Now, it was always going to be tough for Tottenham to convince Brozovic in the middle of the season.

After all, Inter are in a good position to win the Serie A title for the second season in a row.
However, things could change in the summer of 2022.
Brozovic earns £106,000 per week as salary (Salary Sport), so, in our view, if Tottenham are willing to pay him more money, then he could be convinced to move to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, especially if the North London club finish in the Premier League top four this season.
