Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is said to have threatened to report Liverpool’s recruitment staff to club owners FSG over the transfer of Luis Diaz.

According to the Telegraph, the Spurs chief reportedly planned to threaten Liverpool staff to John Henry and Mike Gordon. However, as per the report, FSG were actually delighted with how the recruitment team handled the signing of Diaz.

The Colombian international is on the verge of signing for Liverpool after Jurgen Klopp’s side pipped Tottenham to the FC Porto star. The Merseyside club had been out of the race for most of the window, however, an eleventh-hour offer sealed the deal for the winger.

Given Tottenham’s outrageous bad luck this transfer window, it is perhaps not too surprising that Levy was pushed to reporting Liverpool’s transfer actions over the signing of Diaz.

The attacker is just one of many players Tottenham have missed out on this January. Adama Traore, who has been linked with the north London side for over two years, returned to FC Barcelona on loan.

There is also the story around Lewes FC star Ollie Tanner as per Sky Sports News, with Tottenham failing to agree on personal terms with the 19-year-old attacker who plies his trade in the seventh tier of English football.

This January has been nothing short of an embarrassment for Spurs, with key targets heading to rivals clubs and in other cases rejecting the opportunity to join a Premier League giant.

However, with Dejan Kulusevski close to signing as per Fabrizio Romano and another player likely to join before tomorrow’s deadline, Tottenham have the time to make up for Liverpool’s swoop for Diaz.
