According to O Jogo, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have now made a bid for Tottenham Hotspur target Luis Diaz, who wanted to move to Everton last summer.
O Jogo have reported that Liverpool have stepped up their pursuit of Diaz in the wake of Premier League rivals Tottenham trying to bring the winger to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Liverpool have now made a bid of an initial €45 million (£37.42 million) plus €15m (£12.47m) in bonuses for the 25-year-old winger.
Interestingly, Diaz was keen on a move to Liverpool’s Merseyside rivals Everton in the summer of 2021, according to well-known and well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.
Liverpool more appealing to Tottenham Hotspur for Luis Diaz
In our view, Liverpool would be more appealing to Tottenham than Diaz.
Now, of course, Tottenham are a big club who have arguably the best football stadium in the world and has a stunning training ground.
However, Spurs do not have a recent history of winning major silverware or even competing for titles.

Under Klopp in recent seasons, Liverpool have won the Premier League and the Champions League.
The Reds regularly challenge for the top competitions, and Diaz would know that moving to Anfield and then succeeding at the Merseyside club would bring him global fanfare.
Diaz has scored 14 goals and provided four assists in 18 Portuguese league and has scored two goals in six Champions League matches for Porto so far this season.
