Wolverhampton Wanderers are now looking for £30 million to sell Adama Traore to Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window, according to The Sun.

The Sun have reported that Wolves are determined to keep Traore and are looking for £30 million from Tottenham.

However, Spurs hope to get a deal done for an initial transfer fee of £20 million plus £5 million in add-ons.

Tottenham are reportedly planning to make an improved bid of £20 million, having had an initial offer of £15 million turned down by Wolves.

The Athletic reported last week that Tottenham and Wolves were close to reaching an agreement over a fee of £20 million.

Could Tottenham miss out on Wolves winger Adama Traore?

In our view, Wolves hold all the cards in regard to the future of Traore.

The Spain international has a contract at Wolves, who are actually in the running for the Premier League top four.

The Wanderers are an established club in the Premier League and are not in desperate need of money.

So, in our view, if Wolves refuse to sell the winger – described as “an exciting player” who is “so dangerous” by former Chelsea star Joe Cole on Stadium Astro on Sunday – for anything less than £30 million, then it is very likely that Spurs will have to pay it.

Now, of course, if Traore pushes for a move to Tottenham, then things could turn in Tottenham’s favour, but as things stand, we think that Wolves have the advantage.

According to Football.London, Tottenham managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, is a big fan of Traore and wanted to sign him when he was at Juventus.
