Joe Cole has publicly backed Tottenham Hotspur’s reported pursuit of Adama Traore.
The Lilywhites haven’t signed anybody in the January transfer window yet and Antonio Conte has cut a frustrated figure when asked about potential signings.
If Tottenham do bring anyone to North London, the Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker seems to the most advanced option as of right now.
According to The Athletic, Spurs are ‘likely’ to get the transfer done before the deadline next week.

Tottenham lost 2-0 at Chelsea tonight and former Blues star Cole feels that the ‘dangerous’ Wolves livewire could be a good fit for the Italian manager.
He told Stadium Astro: “He’s an exciting player, someone I’ve always liked. Time is ticking. He does need to improve on his end product, but he’s so dangerous.”

Valid concerns
Everyone speaks about Traore’s lack of end product when it comes to discussing a potential Tottenham move.
However, it’s genuinely a valid concern.
Listen, everybody knows about his physicality and that he’s an absolute machine of a footballer.
But one goal in 23 outings for Wanderers this season illustrates that he struggles in a major way when it comes to utilising his athleticism.
Having been a Spain international since 2020, he’s clearly a talented player but he could be so much better than he is.
And it’s honestly fascinating to see if Conte can take him to an elevated level at Tottenham.
