Paul Merson has raved about Leeds United winger and reported Liverpool target Raphinha on Sky Sports News (2:41pm, January 22, 2022).

The former Arsenal star has been impressed by Raphinha, linked with a move to Liverpool, and believes that the Leeds winger can play for any team.

The Daily Star reported last week that Liverpool and Chelsea are interested in signing Raphinha from Premier League rivals Leeds in the summer of 2022.

Leeds are reportedly in talks with the Brazil international winger over a new contract and hope that a salary of £100,000 per week would convince him to stay at Elland Road.

Merson said about Raphinha on Sky Sports News (2:41pm, January 22, 2022): “This lad is different class. I think he could play for anybody, works hard, and he has got talent in abundance. He is a proper, proper footballer.”

Raphinha would be brilliant for Liverpool

In our view, Raphinha would be a brilliant signing for Liverpool and would make Jurgen Klopp’s side more potent in attack.

Yes, Liverpool have four brilliant attackers in Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota.

However, as we see with Manchester City, there is always room for good players.

Raphinha is very quick, can dribble, takes wonderful free kicks, works hard for the team, and helps out defensively.

The Leeds no. 10 has scored 14 goals and created 19 big chances in 49 Premier League appearances for Leeds so far in his career.

Raphinha has provided 11 assists and has hit the woodwork six times.
