Arsenal are still hoping to land Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic, but the huge demands from his agent are causing a major problem.
Arsenal need to find a new striker this year – and that means splashing the cash to find one good enough to lead Mikel Arteta’s attack.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s future is unclear whilst both Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette are out of contract this summer.
Arsenal must be willing to splash the cash on a new goalscorer, and their top target right now appears to be Vlahovic.
Who can blame any team for wanting to spend big on Vlahovic? The man is an absolute phenomenon.
Vlahovic, 21, just can’t stop scoring in Italy. In 21 games this season, Vlahovic has smashed 17 goals.
With 21 goals in 37 outings last season, Vlahovic is proving he isn’t just a flash in the pan and is simply a goal machine.
Unsurprisingly, that is making him a wanted man.
Arsenal are pushing the hardest, with reports in Italy over the weekend suggesting that Arsenal were offering £50million plus Lucas Torreira for Vlahovic.
That’s pretty enticing, especially given that Vlahovic is out of contract in 2023 and his value will be declining soon.

Arsenal seemingly have the cash for a transfer fee and wages, but the agent fee involved is believed to be a problem.
ANSA – the Italian news wire – now claim that agent Davide Torchia is seeking a huge commission of €18million (£15million) to finalise a Vlahovic deal.
Arsenal have no intention of paying that kind of money in agent fees, leaving their move for Vlahovic in limbo.
Torchia likely knows he is onto something great here. Vlahovic is quickly emerging as one of Europe’s top strikers and something of a consolation prize for any team who misses out on Erling Haaland.
Torchia may see this as a career-changing move for himself just as much as Vlahovic, and Arsenal may need to pay up if they want the Serbian striker.
