Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal want to sign former Chelsea striker Diego Costa in the January transfer window, according to Goal.
Goal have reported that Arsenal have made an enquiry about signing Costa on a free transfer this month.
The Gunners, though, have not made a formal offer.
Costa, a former Atletico Madrid and Chelsea striker, is a free agent at the moment and is on vacation.
The Spain international striker recently terminated his contract with Clube Atlético Mineiro.
Would Diego Costa make Arsenal better?
In our view, Costa would be a good and smart signing for Arsenal, but only in the short term.
It would not be a bad idea for the Gunners to hand the striker a deal until the end of the season.

Remember, the 33-year-old is a free agent and would not command a transfer fee.
We know how good Costa was during his time at Chelsea.
The former Atletico star won the Premier League title twice and the League Cup once with the Blues.
Costa made a total of 89 appearances in the Premier League for Chelsea.
The striker scored 52 goals in those games.
It is a pretty good record.
Now, of course, Costa is older now, but at 33, we think that he could still do a good job for Arsenal in the Premier League for a few months.
