Earlier this week, reports claimed that Ola Aina could only leave Torino for Leeds, if Genoa cancelled Mohamed Fares’ loan deal. That has now happened, and TMW report he is undergoing a medical with Torino.

Last week, TMW reported that London-born Aina had emerged as an option for Leeds and Victor Orta. His versatility is certainly something Marcelo Bielsa will like, given he can play as a winger or a full-back on both sides.

Then, a report from CM said that Torino were open to Aina’s exit to Leeds. There was one condition – if they could sign Fares from Lazio. Fares has been on loan at Genoa, and it was whether Genoa would cancel said loan.

Now, TMW report that Fares is undergoing a medical at Torino after cancelling his Genoa loan. It paves the way for Leeds to sign 25-year-old Aina, who could cost in the region of £9million (CM).

Leeds have clear path for Aina as Fares joins: Orta must pounce

The Whites need bodies, first and foremost. Their extensive injury list saw them name a side against West Ham in the FA Cup including Lew Bate, Sam Greenwood and Leo Hjelde – but not by choice.

While wingers and full-backs is not a critically affected area, any additions are welcome – especially players that can play in numerous roles. With Cody Drameh going to Cardiff, he can supply cover for Luke Ayling.

He also frees up Stuart Dallas to play in midfield as cover for Junior Firpo. Out wide, his presence could push Raphinha into the 10 role, which Leeds also lack. Jack Harrison has been indifferent and he could come in.

Perhaps, the only issue remaining, is that Aina is currently at AFCON.
