Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal will make a bid for Tottenham Hotspur January transfer target Dusan Vlahovic in the coming days, according to CM.

CM have reported that Arsenal will make a bid of €60 million (£50.07 million) for Fiorentina striker Vlahovic, linked with Tottenham as well, in the next few days.

Fiorentina are reportedly open to selling the 21-year-old striker in the January transfer window.

Arsenal’s reported decision to put in a bid for the Serbia international striker will be a blow for Tottenham.

The London Evening Standard reported this week that Antonio Conte’s Tottenham are also interested in Vlahovic.

What should Tottenham do if Arsenal bid for Vlahovic?

In our view, Tottenham should put in a bid of their own and compete with Arsenal for Vlahovic.

Now, you could argue that Tottenham do not ‘need’ the striker.

After all, Conte has Harry Kane, and Son Heung-min is a good source of goals as well.

However, Vlahovic is one of the best young strikers in Europe, and Tottenham simply cannot let Arsenal sign him and get stronger in attack.

In our opinion, Spurs should at least bid for Vlahovic and make Arsenal work harder to get him.

Tottenham need to look to the future as well, and have to consider that they will eventually need someone who can take over from Kane as the main goalscorer.

Or perhaps play alongside Kane and Son in attack.

Vlahovic has scored 16 goals and provided two assists in Serie A so far this season, and scored 21 goals and gave three assists in the league in 2020-21.
