Turkish Super Lig clubs Alanyaspor and Hatayspor have now opened talks with Scott Arfield in a bid to sign the Rangers midfielder in a free transfer this month, according to Fanatik.
Arfield is set to be out of contract this June, but can depart Ibrox immediately if he receives enticing offers. It is claimed the 33-year-old has a clause in his Gers deal that allows him to leave without any compensation.
The potential for a free transfer has enticed Alanyaspor and Hatayspor to begin talks with Arfield’s agent over leaving Rangers. Both sides also believe the 19-cap Canada star has the experience to be a worthwhile upgrade on their existing options.

Arfield has made 164 appearances for the Gers since moving to Glasgow in 2018 after five-years with Burnley. He had played 193 times for the Clarets, following 119 for Huddersfield and 116 for Falkirk earlier in his career.
The Livingston-born technician has made 24 of his outings for the Ibrox natives so far this season. But he has only opened 11 in all competitions, including six Premiership games.
Van Bronckhorst to deny Hatayspor or Alanyaspor free Arfield transfer?
Giovanni van Bronckhorst may be reluctant to let Arfield leave Rangers for Hatayspor or Alanyaspor in a free transfer. Of the midfielder’s six Premiership starts so far this season, he has made five under the Dutchman.

He has also featured in all seven of the Gers’ top-flight fixtures since Steven Gerrard left in November. Arfield even scored one of his two goals for the term in Van Bronckhorst’s first match at the helm. His effort against Livingston also earing the boss’ praise.
“I think Scott did really well,” he told Rangers TV. “We needed those runs into the spaces. We knew we could create a lot of danger and I think the first goal was excellent.”
Yet the potential for job security with Hatayspor or Alanyaspor could see Arfield consider leaving Rangers in a January transfer. He can also help Hatayspor edge closer to European qualification, with Omer Erdogan’s side a point shy of the Conference League positions.
