Newcastle United’s second bid for Lille central defender Sven Botman is £29.3 million, according to Sky Sports.
Sky Sports have reported that Newcastle have made the second offer for Botman after defending French champions turned down their first bid.
Lille are looking for £35 million for the defender, according to Sky Sports, which suggests that Newcastle need to pay just under £6 million more to bring the 21-year-old Dutch centre-back to St. James’ Park.
Newcastle should go all out for Sven Botman
In our view, if Lille want £35 million for Botman, then Newcastle should pay that money.
Now.
There is no point in Newcastle messing about and trying to negotiate a transfer deal.
Just pay the money.

Botman is a very good centre-back who is claimed to eventually get better than even Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk.
In December 2020, journalist Duncan Castles said on The Transfer Window Podcast that Jose Fonte thinks that Botman is better than Van Dijk.
Castles said: “Fonte has played with an array of top-class centre-backs in his career including Virgil van Dijk, Toby Alderweireld, Pepe in the Portuguese national team and Gabriel last season who is now at Arsenal.
“From what I understand of Fonte’s impression of Botman, he thinks he’s the best of all of them. He describes him as a machine and a man who doesn’t make mistakes.”
Newcastle are in real danger of getting to the Championship at the end of the season.
Manager Howe needs defensive reinforcements, and Botman would be able to make an immediate impact at the Magpies.
