Yannick Bolasie has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to speculation that Aston Villa are about to sign Lucas Digne from Everton.

The Daily Mail and The Athletic have reported this evening that Villa are in talks with Everton over signing Digne in the January transfer window.

Talks are reportedly at an advanced stage.

The Villans will pay the Toffees £25 million to secure the services of the 28-year-old France international left-back.

Bolasie had a loan spell at Villa from Everton in 2018-19, and he believes that Digne would be a very good signing for Steven Gerrard’s side.

Lucas Digne would make Aston Villa better

In our opinion, Digne would make Villa better and stronger and would be a very good signing.

The former Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona left-back is a very good and experienced left-back.

Digne is 28, which means that he is at the top of his game and would be able to make an immediate impact at Villa.

Matt Targett is a good left-back, but Digne is arguably an upgrade on him.sa

The Everton defender has scored four goals and created 34 big chances in 113 Premier League appearances so far in his career.
