BBC Sport pundit Mark Lawrenson has predicted the result of the Premier League clash between Leeds and Burnley on Sunday.

Both sides come into the fixture in poor form.

Leeds to host Burnley

Leeds are winless in four, taking just one point from those matches and conceding a whopping 16 goals.

Meanwhile, Burnley are winless in six and while they’ve not been shipping as many goals as their upcoming opponents, they’re struggling to score themselves and are currently in the relegation zone.

Lawrenson predicts narrow home win

Both teams are in need of three points but Lawrenson expects the Whites to triumph.

‘Leeds shipped a lot of goals before their Christmas fixtures were postponed because of a Covid outbreak at the club, but they should have some more players fit and available now and I really don’t see Burnley doing the same damage as Manchester City and Arsenal in any case,’ he wrote [BBC Sport].

‘Both these teams have had a disappointing time of it in the first half of the season, but the Clarets are in much deeper trouble at the bottom of the table.

‘They don’t have the biggest squad, so it will be interesting to see what they do during the January transfer window to try to climb the table.’

He then adds a score prediction of 2-1 to Bielsa’s side.

It would be a big blow for Burnley if they were to leave Elland Road empty handed on Sunday afternoon.

However, while Leeds’ home form has been far from spectacular, Sean Dyche’s side are yet to win on the road this season and they’ll need to perform at a much higher level than they’ve been doing recently if that is to change this weekend.
