Arsenal fans are keen on the idea of landing Tariq Lamptey after watching him in action for Brighton & Hove Albion last night.

Lamptey to Arsenal?

Brighton picked up a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea, with Lamptey proving to be a massive threat.

The right wing-back’s display came only hours after he was linked with a move to Arsenal again.

Duncan Castles said that Mikel Arteta’s side are interested in a move for the 21-year-old on the Transfer Window Podcast.

And Arsenal fans certainly were impressed by their reported target’s showing yesterday.

Good signing?

If Lamptey was to move to Arsenal he could be an astute addition.

Arsenal’s need for a right-back has decreased following the arrival of Takehiro Tomiyasu in the summer.

However, Lamptey’s arrival would give them seriously strong competition in that area.

At the moment Tomiyasu appears to be Arsenal’s number one choice on the right-hand side of their defence, with Arteta lacking any other real natural options.

But if Lamptey was to sign then things would all change at the Emirates Stadium.

Lamptey also possesses a completely different skill set to Tomiyasu, which would make his signature even more appealing.

Lamptey loves to play on the front-foot and possesses great speed.

This attacking quality was on full show yesterday, as Brighton largely dominated against Chelsea.

Graham Potter’s side only rescued a point in the last minute when former Arsenal man Danny Welbeck headed home, but they had been pressing for an equaliser for some time and thoroughly deserved at least a point from the contest.
