17-year-old Canadian talent Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty is reportedly training with Arsenal’s U-18s this week following the end of the MLS season.
According to Arsenal youth reporter Jeorge Bird, the winger is the latest youngster from North America to spend some time at Hale End. Last week saw Colorado Rapids attacker Dantouma Toure train with the U-18s, with Marshall-Rutty now also in England with the Gunners.
The Toronto attacker is the latest name of the Canadian production machine which has kicked into high gear over the past few years.
The Guardian recently compared Marshall-Rutty to Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies, with the teenager having very similar traits to the Bundesliga superstar.
As per the Guardian’s analysis of the attacker, Marshall-Rutty is known for his physicality and quick work on the ball as well as his athleticism.
Indeed, the teenager made history this year after becoming the youngest player to ever play for the Canadian national team, a record that Davies once held after breaking through with the Vancouver Whitecaps.
Arsenal could enter North American market with Marshall-Rutty in training

With MLS clubs now producing some phenomenal players and Brexit rules making it easier for Premier League teams to talent from North American, Marshall-Rutty could be the first player Arsenal take a gamble on from the emerging continent.
With the Kroenke’s owning the aforementioned Colorado Rapids, it seems like a matter of time before a player from MLS is snapped up from Arsenal. And with Toure and now Marshall-Rutty training with the club, it appears that a decision could be made soon.
