Liverpool are looking to sign Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolverhampton Wanderers, the Daily Mail report.

Ait-Nouri to Liverpool?

They say that Liverpool are competing with Tottenham Hotspur to sign the attacking full-back, who is drawing a lot of attention this season.

The 20-year-old struggled in his first season in English football, but has now broken into Wolves’ team and has attacking quality has caught the eye after his £10 million move (Express and Star).

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side are now listed among the contenders to sign the full-back, who Wolves boss Bruno Lage has already stated could become a ‘top player’.

The doubts with Ait-Nouri almost entirely are centred around the defensive part of his game.

Both Nuno and Lage have said that he needs to improve defensively if he is to fulfil his potential.

But Liverpool will have been drawn to the quality that he possesses going forward.

With Klopp demanding that his full-backs play high up the pitch and deliver service to their strikers, Ait-Nouri is precisely the sort of player who could thrive.

Liverpool appear to be thinking ahead by placing the Frenchman on their radar, as he is still in the early stages of his career and has only made 29 Premier League appearances to date.

It may be that if he was to join Liverpool he would be loaned out initially too.

The Reds already have Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas who can play left-back, meaning they are well stocked in the area.

But with Ait-Nouri possessing such potential he could be a player that they simply cannot turn down the opportunity to sign.
