Tottenham Hotspur defender Joe Rodon could be on his way out in January, with Brighton and Hove Albion keen on signing him.

That’s according to The Times, who claim that Rodon could be one of a number of Spurs departures next month.

Potter wants Brighton reunion with Rodon

It’s suggested that the main suitor right now is Brighton and Hove Albion.

Brighton boss Graham Potter coached Rodon at Swansea City in the 2018-19 season.

Rodon made 27 Championship appearances that season having never featured in a league game before Potter’s arrival.

Brighton are decimated with injuries at the moment. Two defenders – Lewis Dunk and Adam Webster – are currently out.

Rodon could help add depth at Brighton whilst reuniting with his former boss Potter.

Tottenham may be willing to let Rodon go rather than have him sit on the sidelines.

You can hardly blame Rodon for wanting to leave Tottenham

Signed by Jose Mourinho in October 2020, Rodon impressed many Tottenham fans last season.

Mourinho even called Rodon ‘perfect’, but the playing time just hasn’t been there for him.

Rodon, 24, has only made one Premier League appearance this season – and that came as a substitute against Crystal Palace.

Rodon’s only playing time since Antonio Conte came in was in the Europa League defeat to NS Mura.

The defender deserves more playing time than this, and if Brighton offer him that, you can hardly blame him for wanting to leave Tottenham.
