Tottenham Hotspur fans have issued a mixed response to Antonio Conte’s comments about Joe Rodon’s playing time.
Life has been difficult for the Welshman ever since he stepped foot into Hotspur Way in 2020 for £11 million from Championship side Swansea (Sky Sports).
And it seems as though that lack of game time he is suffering will continue given what Conte had to say about the player recently.
The Tottenham boss stated that Rodon is ‘behind Eric (Dier)’ for the central position in the club’s back three, as he told Football London.
“The first thing that I tried to do – and am doing – is find the right position for every player.
“In every position, you have a double player, and in the characteristic, I see Joe behind Eric in the central position.”
There are some Spurs fans who think that Rodon should earn game time and should start ahead of someone like Davinson Sanchez.
Given that Jose Mourinho didn’t start the former Swansea man as much as he would have liked, that trend then continued under Nuno Espirito Santo and now under Conte.
As a result, that is worrying the fans as to where the player is heading because he might need to go out on loan.
In truth, the player might look for it himself because if Wales qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, then he will be wanting to be playing on a regular basis in order to be fit and firing for that tournament.
At the moment, he is earning more game time for his country than he is on the domestic stage.
