Arsenal attacker Alexandre Lacazette has said that he is waiting until the January transfer window to decide on his future.

Speaking to Telefoot via GFFN, the 30-year-old striker revealed that his agents are looking for a new club for him. Lacazette’s current deal with Arsenal expires next summer, and the French forward is likely to depart the Emirates in January.

The striker, who has made 16 appearances for France, has remained a key player for Mikel Arteta’s side this season despite his contract situation. With Lacazette commonly partnering Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in a front-two.

Indeed, the forward has been a great servant for the Gunners since arriving in 2017. However, it appears that both the player and club are mutual on parting ways in 2022. Yet Lacazette will decide on where he goes in the January window, which opens in just over a month.

Lacazette said when asked about his future in 2022: “Obviously my agents are now looking left and right a bit. But not before January, I really want to turn towards something.”

The Arsenal star added: “We’ll see what comes up, if the challenges are interesting, if the projects are nice and how I’m being counted on. So, there’s still a lot of questions, and I would rather wait until January to position myself.”

Arsenal should be working hard to find January replacement for Lacazette

Lacazette has never been the most prolific striker for Arsenal. With the attacker’s highest goal tally for the club coming in the 2018/19 season where the Frenchman hit 19 goals in all competitions.

However, it is his build-up play and movement off the ball that Arsenal will miss the most. With Lacazette’s intelligence from deep a trait that has allowed the likes of Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe to thrive in the attack.

With 2022 likely going to be a year where a new striker is Arsenal’s main priority, Arteta and Edu Gaspar will have to repeat their transfer heroics from last summer and identify the perfect man to replace Lacazette. Which could be a difficult task for the club.
