Liverpool dominated Southampton to win at Anfield on Saturday, but the Saints stunned BBC Radio 5 Live pundit Michael Brown (27/11, 15:39) with how they let Diogo Jota score.
The Reds ran out comfortable victors to regain second in the Premier League table from Manchester City. They now trail leaders Chelsea by a point, but have played once more.
Jota struck Liverpool’s first and second goals to open a comfortable lead over Southampton after just half an hour. Hitting home his sixth and seventh of the top-flight campaign so far.

Andrew Robertson pulled the ball back to the edge of the six-yard area for Jota to break the deadlock inside just the second-minute. A goal which ultimately set the tone for the game.
The Portuguese would later sidefoot home his second from close range in the 32nd-minute after meeting Mohamed Salah’s cross.
Trent Alexander-Arnold freed Salah down Liverpool’s right-wing before the Egyptian played a smart one-two with Jordan Henderson.
Southampton were too quick to rush out to try and apply pressure on Henderson they left Salah free to turn. Slack defending at the back post also left Jota unmarked to tap home.
Southampton defenders Valentino Livramento and Jan Bednarek stunned Brown by leaving Jota unchallenged to double Liverpool’s lead and his haul.
“Wow, what a team goal this is, nutmegs and one-two’s galore!” Brown said.
“Who’s marking Jota? He can’t believe his luck when it falls to him. Such a cool finish.
“That’s poor defending from Southampton, you can’t leave someone like him unmarked.”

Jota continues buoyant campaign in Liverpool rout over Southampton
Jota has enjoyed a buoyant campaign so far this season, and continued his fine form as Liverpool picked Southampton off.
He has now scored in back-to-back Premier League games for the second time this term after netting against Arsenal last week.
The 24-year-old last struck home in successive matches in August against Norwich City and Burnley. With fellow strikes to follow against Brentford and Manchester United.
