Liverpool fans absolutely loved seeing Harvey Elliott embracing Tyler Morton at full-time after his Champions League debut last night.

Elliott’s delight

Morton impressed for Liverpool as they beat Porto 2-0 to continue their 100% record in Europe this term.

Morton had been chucked in by Jurgen Klopp, with Liverpool’s progress to the knockout stages already secured.

The youngster put in a wonderful performance, and certainly did not look out of place even at the highest level.

It was a proud night for Morton, who now seems to be establishing himself as a first-team player.

And Elliott’s delight at seeing his teammate’s progress was clear to see.

He walked into the pitch and embraced Morton after the final whistle and then hugged him again as the pair walked down the tunnel.

It was a lovely moment and one which Liverpool fans on social media really enjoyed seeing.

A future leader?

Elliott shows great maturity for a player of such tender years.

For an 18-year-old he speaks with great authority and already shows strong leadership qualities.

Elliott’s reaction also shows just how selfless a player he is.

Morton’s development means that his own task of breaking back into Liverpool’s midfield when he returns from injury could become even tougher.

But that was clearly of no concern to the youngster, and that is testament to his character.

Liverpool fans will now be dreaming of seeing Elliott and Morton in the same midfield together, with the pair two of the most exciting prospects at Anfield right now.
