Arsenal are reportedly interested in Romanian talent Ianis Stoica, with the FCSB youngster regarded as one of the top prospects in the country.

According to Playsport, the 18-year-old attacker is on the Gunners watchlist. With the north London side having a history of dipping into the Romanian market to sign promising young players. And if reports are true, Arsenal are now keen on Stoica

But who exactly is Stoica? Whilst the world of football is more accessible than ever before, not many supporters would have heard of the Romanian teenager or what his qualities on the pitch are.

I think the best place to start is what type of player is Stoica?

“He is an enthusiastic player who makes himself easily spotted on the pitch. He’s a player who can play anywhere behind the attacking line of the striker. But this season, he has flourished going forward. He already has six goals this campaign.”

Romania currently have an excellent group of players coming through, but what is Stoica’s reputation?

“FCSB’s owner, the outspoken Gigi Becali, trusts him a lot. Stoica scored his first goal for FCSB’s senior side when he wasn’t even 15. So that got a lot of eyes on him.

“His progress this year was somehow anticipated by all the comments from people who knew him or worked with him during the past few years.”

Is there a current player who Stoica draws similarities to?

“From the times I have watched him, he reminds me of (Sergio) Aguero. But, of course, there’s a long, long, long way to go before Stoica reaches this level of quality. He still needs time before he can play in the Premier League, but I believe he can reach that level one day.”
