Marcelo Bielsa’s verdict
The Argentine Leeds Live: “In the first half and first part of the second half he had incidents in the game.
“As the team declined in the final 30, his performance was dragged back because the team stopped holding the ball.
“He is at the height of the competition, the level. He showed personality. He could adapt to the rhythm of the game, These things are important.”

How did Joe Gelhardt play?
Gelhardt is only 19.
And he was asked to lead the line against a Tottenham team managed by Antonio Conte.
The teenager rose to the challenge.
Yes, the 19-year-old striker could not score, but he gave a very good account of himself.
Gelhardt got an early yellow card, but he handled himself well thereafter and asked questions of the Tottenham defence.

The teenager took four shots and two of them were on target, had a pass accuracy of 79%, and took 40 touches.
It was a very encouraging performance from Gelhardt, and it will be interesting to see if Bielsa keeps him in the starting lineup in Leeds’s next game.
As you can see from the tweets below, Leeds fans were impressed by the display produced by Gelhardt as well.
Well, some of them anyway.
