Arsenal and Everton are keen on Yuri Alberto but Internacional manager Diego Aguirre tells Footure that he could have a bright future at another Premier League side – Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea.
Yuri Alberto has obviously been following the news.
Because, according to reports coming from the other side of the Atlantic, one of the hottest striking prospects in South American football has reservations about joining a Barcelona side over a billion euros in debt and making their worst start to a season since the 1980s (Torcedores).
We don’t blame him.
How Alberto feels about joining Arsenal or Everton instead, however, remains to be seen. The free-scoring 20-year-old admitted recently that he ‘dreams’ of making a name for himself on European soil.
And with 18 goals to his name this season – not to mention a tally of three hat-tricks in 2021 alone – Alberto is certainly doing his chances no harm at all.
Is Yuri Alberto heading to the Premier League?
“(Yuri Alberto) is a spectacular striker,” says Internacional coach Aguirre, tipping his star man for a bright future at Stamford Bridge or the San Siro.
“We’ll see Yuri at a big club like Chelsea or AC Milan – big teams. With Yuri, the same thing will happen as with Alisson at Liverpool, who was also my player.
“He has everything needed to succeed; quality, he’s excellent professional, a very good boy.”

It’s not just Alberto’s finishing skills that have earned him Aguirre’s admiration, however.
And, given that Mikel Arteta and Rafael Benitez demand so much more from their strikers than simply putting the ball in the back of the net, Alberto’s relentless work-ethic would be very well received at the Emirates or Goodison Park.
“He is one of our first defenders. Because he starts with intensity, putting pressure on rival defenders. He’s a great player and I’m sure he has a lot of good things ahead of him,” Aguirre said of the £17 million ace.
“Internacional will do everything possible to ensure that, if one day he leaves the club, he leaves for an amount that has a positive impact on our finances.”
