A certain Joe White was among the Newcastle United players involved in Eddie Howe’s latest training session.
Howe put his Newcastle boys through their paces at St James’s Park on Saturday.
The 43-year-old kicks off his reign as Magpies boss with a visit of Brentford to Tyneside next weekend.
There was some concern in the knowledge that Callum Wilson was not among the players in yesterday morning’s session.
But there was also a big positive in the form of White’s presence.
The 19-year-old is one of Newcastle’s most exciting young players and Steve Bruce claimed prior to his dismissal that he’s got a very ‘big future’ in the game, adding that what he does is ‘effortless’ [Chronicle Live].
Here he is photographed at the stadium yesterday:

Encouraging
It’s great to see that Howe is already taking an interest in Newcastle’s next generation.
As reported by The Telegraph, the former Bournemouth boss watched the Under-23s train on Thursday and spoke to academy staff.
It looks like Howe is very much keeping one eye on helping young talent come through – in the long term, that is.
In the short term, Newcastle, who sit 19th in the Premier League table, are very much in a relegation battle and experimenting with young starlets won’t be feasible this season.
