Some Newcastle United fans are worried about an injury to Callum Wilson.
Eddie Howe put his Newcastle players through their paces at St James’s Park today.
This time next week, the atmosphere at the stadium will be buzzing ahead of the Magpies’ visit of Brentford – Howe’s first game as manager.
United released photos of this morning’s session but some fans of the Tyneside club are worried after failing to spot Wilson.
The former Bournemouth hitman, a £20 million signing by Newcastle, is key to their chances of staying in the Premier League.
In other words, an injury at this stage is the last thing Howe needs in preparation for his first game.
Here’s what the supporters are saying on Twitter:
Massive
With 16 Premier League goals since the start of last season, the 29-year-old is massive for Newcastle.
Remember, Howe inherits a team that are 19th in the table and five points adrift of safety as things stand.
Forget about everything else – it’s goals and goals alone that’ll ultimately save the North-East club from relegation.
And without Wilson, it’s just difficult to see where those goals are going to come from, it has to be said.
There is no confirmed injury as of yet but the fact he seems to be absent really isn’t a good sign.
