Three players could leave Everton in January, one’s played just 57 minutes

Premier League Everton are expected to loan out defender Jarrad Branthwaite and goalkeeper Harry Tyrer in the January transfer window, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.

The smell of Bonfire Night gunpowder still lingers in the air but Everton are wasting no time in ramping up preparations ahead of the winter window.

It’s understood Rafa Benitez’s inconsistent side are already planning to add a winger and box-to-box midfield enforcer to their wafer-thin ranks. It appears one of La Liga’s surprise packages is at the top of their wish-list – although Marcel Brands has distanced the Toffees from speculation linking them with Monaco’s Aleksandr Golovin.

There will be outgoings as well as incomings, however, with Everton under pressure to sell a handful of fringe players if they are to raise funds for a big-money arrival.

According to reports coming out of Merseyside, a couple of exciting youngsters are also expected to leave Goodison Park – albeit on a temporary, rather than permanent, basis.

19-year-old Branthwaite has played just 57 minutes of football for the Everton first team this season.

And, despite their worrying form, Mason Holgate, Ben Godfrey and Michael Keane remain ahead of him in Benitez’s pecking order, not to mention the injured Yerry Mina.

The Echo suggests Branthwaite, who impressed on loan at Blackburn Rovers last season, could push for another short-term move in January, with Everton unlikely to stand in his way.

The report adds Harry Tyrer – who has been labelled the best young goalkeeper to come through Everton’s academy alongside Joao Virginia – could depart too.

Blackpool, meanwhile, hope to take Ellis Simms back to Bloomfield Road after his starring role in their 2020/21 promotion-winning campaign.

However, it’s understood defender Lewis Gibson could return to Goodison ahead of schedule in January as injuries and lack of game time hamper his spell at Sheffield Wednesday.
