The Brazilian right-back took the right-wing spot in the Italian’s 3-4-3 formation. A position that is one of the most important and has seen players thrive in recent years under Conte.
Achraf Hakimi was one of Inter Milan’s best players last season in the role. Whilst at Chelsea, Victor Moses was a player transformed after being identified by Conte as someone who could operate in the position.
And for Spurs, it appears that Emerson will become that player to operate in the role. With the defender impressing for Tottenham as they kept a clean sheet against Everton.
