Besiktas fear losing Cyle Larin to a Premier League club in 2022 with Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and West Ham United having expressed an interest in the contract-rebel striker, as reported by Haber365.
Ask supporters of Spurs, Everton and West Ham to name their dream January signing and many will tell you that a new number nine is right at the top of their post-Christmas wishlist.
Tottenham have just one senior centre-forward on their books, having failed to secure the services of Lautaro Martinez during the summer transfer window.
West Ham find themselves in a similarly precarious position, with Michail Antonio – like Harry Kane – having endured his fair share of injury issues in recent years.
Everton, at least, do have some much-needed cover for the crocked Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Salomon Rondon, however, looks every inch a 32-year-old veteran coming off the back of two seasons in China; sluggish, uninspired and no closer to breaking his duck.
The availability of free-scoring Canada international Larin, then, is unlikely to go unnoticed for long.
Could Cyle Larin move to England in January?
West Ham are long-term admirers, having failed with a £9 million bid for Larin during the January transfer window.
Everton and Tottenham have also been mentioned as potential suitors for a 6ft 2ins poacher who was once tipped for greatness a former Orlando City team-mate – Ballon D’Or winner Kaka (90Min).
According to reports coming out of Turkey today, Larin has rejected Besiktas’ offer of a new £30,000-a-week deal.
The 26-year-old will become a free-agent next summer as things stand and it is understood that Besiktas are braced for Premier League offers, fearing that last season’s top scorer will be lured away by the bright lights of English football.
Larin scored a career-best 23 times in 45 games across 2020/21, firing Besiktas to the league and cup double.
But, as Everton supporters will tell you, a prolific goal-scoring record in Turkey does not always translate to the Premier League…
