A significant portion of the Newcastle United dressing room want the club’s new Saudi-led owners to fire Steve Bruce this week, per the Daily Mail, sparking some fans to react online.
Players believe the situation at St James’ Park cannot continue for much longer and want to see Bruce’s future resolved. Some are shocked Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, the Reuben Brothers and Amanda Staveley have allowed the uncertainty to continue.
Bruce has stayed at the helm since Mike Ashley sold Newcastle to the consortium for £305m earlier this month. Reports prior to the takeover by Sky Sports already claimed the new hierarchy would fire Bruce in a matter of time, but are yet to sack the 60-year-old.

Parting with Bruce remains a priority for the consortium now in charge of the big decisions at Newcastle. But no action is imminent, as they want to follow correct processes and PIF must give the final green light.
A vast number of Newcastle players, however, want to see PIF fire Bruce before travelling to Crystal Palace on Saturday. Some within the consortium are also growing frustrated that he remains in the hot seat, rather than removed from his position as intended last week.
