Mo Elneny looks to be on his way out of the Premier League and Arsenal, with Fanatik claiming that talks with Turkish giants Fenerbahce are underway.

Could Fener sign three Arsenal players in the space of just 12 months?

Seemingly not put off by Mesut Ozil’s underwhelming displays since swapping London for Istanbul, the 19-time Super Lig champions are returning to a familiar hunting ground with not one but two of Mikel Arteta’s squad in their sights.

According to Yeni Asir, Sead Kolasinac is expected to join his long-time admirers when the transfer window opens in the New Year despite Ali Koc, Fenerbahce’s president, deeming the Bosnia international too expensive not so long ago.

If reports are to be believed, Kolasinac will be battling Elneny for a window seat on the flight from England to Turkey.

Has Elneny started his last Premier League game for Arsenal?

It is understood that Fenerbahce’s veteran manager Fatih Terim wants an experienced, defensively-minded midfielder capable of leading by example on and off the pitch at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.

29-year-old Elneny fits the bill.

What’s more, he is already proven in Super Lig football, having enjoyed an impressive loan spell at Fener’s Istanbul neighbours Besiktas in 2019/20.

Fanatik believe that Elneny would welcome the opportunity to kick-start his career in yellow-and-black, having played just 44 minutes of Premier League football this term despite the injury-enforced absence of Granit Xhaka.

Talks between Arsenal and Fenerbache are underway already.

Furthermore, the Gunners may be willing to ease the path of negotiations by terminating the final six months of Elneny’s contract.

The Egpytian is expected to be offered a contract in the region of £30,000-a-week, some £20,000-a-week less than he currently takes home at the Emirates Stadium (Spotrac).

“What Mo transmits through the team is special,” Arteta said last year, some time before Elneny fell behind Albert Lokonga in the pecking order. “He has this energy as a person, he goes in a room and he creates an atmosphere.

“Mo is a person that is admired amongst everyone at the football club.”
