Liverpool central defender Virgil van Dijk has raved about reported Jurgen Klopp transfer target Erling Haaland on Sky Sports.
Van Dijk has outlined the qualities of the Borussia Dortmund striker, who has been linked with a move to Klopp’s Liverpool.
90min reported in September 2021 that Liverpool are among the clubs who have spoken to Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola about a potential move for the 21-year-old striker.

Van Dijk has faced the striker on international duty and at club level, and he is a fan of the youngster.
The Liverpool defender told Sky Sports, as transcribed by The Mirror: “Haaland is a special striker, because he’s so strong, he’s quick, he’s got all the attributes to make a defender’s life very difficult
“The first time [I played him] was when he came on at Anfield. He was at Salzburg and he got a tap-in and he scored.
“Obviously in the away game he didn’t. He got subbed after 65 minutes or something but it was a very tough one, he was very quick, aggressive, very direct.”
Bring Haaland to Liverpool
Dortmund are unlikely to sell Haaland in the January transfer window.
After all, Dortmund have aspirations of winning the Bundesliga title, and they are not going to damage their chances by selling arguably their best player in the middle of the campaign.
However, a potential move for the striker could happen next summer, if, of course, Liverpool are willing to meet the German club’s demands.
Mohamed Salah is going strong and is banging in the goals for fun, but the Egyptian is 29 now.
Liverpool need to keep an eye on the future and should make a move for Haaland next summer.
Klopp could even fit Salah and Haaland in the same team, which would make the Reds simply unstoppable.
The 21-year-old Norway international striker has scored seven goals and provided three assists in five Bundesliga appearances so far this season.
The youngster scored 27 goals in the league and 10 goals in the Champions League last season.
