Gary Neville has said on Sky Sports Premier League (5:13pm, September 19, 2021) that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele will never ever be appreciated in the Premier League.

The former Manchester United defender has said that Spurs star Ndombele does not fit into a position or a certain type.

The Sky Sports pundit has suggested that the 24-year-old France international midfielder is better suited to La Liga or Serie A.

Neville said about Ndombele on Sky Sports Premier League (5:13pm, September 19, 2021): “I don’t know what you make of him. I don’t think anybody does. He’s one of those players that you watch and you think he’s a fantastic, technical football player.

“He takes the ball in difficult situations, he dribbles with it, he beats people. And then you sort of don’t see him then for maybe four minutes, six minutes, eight minutes and wonder where he is.

“I watch Ndombele and think there’s a lot of players like him in Spain, in Italy. Sometimes they fit those leagues better. I don’t think he’ll ever be appreciated fully over here because he doesn’t fit into a position or a type.”

What to do with Tanguy Ndombele?

Neville made the comments about Ndombele while watching him in action for Tottenham against Chelsea in the London derby this past weekend.

The Frenchman actually did well for Spurs and was praised by Arsenal and Chelsea fans for his performance.

The problem with Ndombele is that the Frenchman has not always been played in a certain position.

The Frenchman has been moved around.

Ndombele is a box-to-box midfielder who needs to be given the freedom to do what he wants to.

Now, of course, the Frenchman has to be responsible on the pitch and should develop a connection with his teammates.

However, for Tottenham head coach Nuno to get the best out of the Frenchman, he needs to allow him to express himself on the pitch and not restrict him.
